Where is the event and what are my parking options getting to the event?
Tours start promptly at 2:00 p.m. at the Visitor’s Center Hardesty Higgins House at 212 South Main Street in Downtown Harrisonburg, VA [MAP].
Downtown Harrisonburg is located on historic Route 11(South Main Street). From Interstate-81, take exit 245 and head west on Port Republic Road. Turn right at the traffic signal on Route 11-South Main Street and travel 0.5 miles to downtown. Rocktown Bites Tours will begin at the Hardesty-Higgins House (Visitor’s Center) at 212 South Main Street.
There is parking in the rear of the building on Bruce Street. Public Parking is free, with time limits. Time limits are enforced Monday through Saturday, 7:00AM to 7:00 PM. Look for signs that show time limits for each row or block. Please see map, if you have questions.
How much walking is involved?
For most tours we will be walking the length of Downtown Harrisonburg over a two and half hour period. At most stops we will be seated for our tasting. The pace is relaxed.
Are any beverages served on the tour?
At some restaurants craft beers, wine and/or cocktails will accompany the food tasting. The cost of the beverages is included in the cost of the ticket. For this reason, we recommended the tour for those over 21. Customers under 21 are welcome, but will not be served alcoholic beverages. Those that choose not to drink will still have a memorable experience on a Rocktown Bites Food tour.
What about dietary restrictions?
At this time the only food restriction we can accommodate is vegetarian. If you are a vegetarian, we recommend that you contact us at least 6 hours before the tour so we can make sure that all restaurants have time to prepare. If you have a severe food allergy please contact us before purchasing a ticket.

Does this tour having anything to offer a local?
Absolutely! Harrisonburg residents will enjoy and learn new things about their charming town and will also get behind the scenes look at some local favorite restaurants.
Is it appropriate to tip our tour guide?
Yes. Your tour guides would appreciate gratuities if you are pleased with their service. As a guideline, the standard in the service industry is 15-20%.
How much food is served on the tour?
Each tour has 5-6 food and beverage tastings. For most people, enough food is served that they are not hungry for dinner afterwards.
